“Bad news people. If you take boring-ass photos of flowers and dogs at 12 megapixels, you are going to take boring-ass photos of flowers and dogs at 36 megapixels. Period, end of story.”

“If you want to be a good photographer, go shoot stuff. Get outside of your comfort zone, show your work to people and take criticism graciously.”

Simple and to the point.

People always ask me for camera recommendations. 99% of my personal work is shot with an 8-year old Canon Rebel T2 and a 35mm f/2.0 lens. Total value: Less than $600. Stop looking at different cameras and start looking around. That’s where you’ll find photography.
