Charleston Local Flavors
for National Geographic Traveler
Charleston is a city rich with butter and Spanish moss. Tourists descend year round to spend long days wandering the bendy streets of old architecture, trying to work up an appetite for yet another decadent meal. National Geographic Traveler sent me to the south for a week to meet some of the people behind the city’s never-ending culinary renaissance. From the upscale Dewberry Hotel, to Rodney Scott’s BBQ (perhaps the only James Beard winner with a drive thru).
